Chicken or The Egg Tour

Length of Tour:
Approximately 1 hour to 1.5 hours depending on group size.

Who doesn’t love chickens?! Chickens are the most common bird on Earth, and they play an essential role in agriculture. During this fun and educational tour, your group will learn all about chickens—their life cycles, how eggs are formed, and how farmers care for them. Get an up-close look at these fascinating birds and discover why they are so important to our food system!

Minimum of 10 paying guests/Maximum of 125 total Participants (Students, Parents, & Teachers).
If your group is expected to be larger than 125, please split your group and book two separate times on the same day. You all may arrive at the same time and play or eat lunch while waiting on your tour to begin.

Tour Includes:

• Barnyard Theater Presentation – An engaging lesson on chickens and their role on the farm.
• Barnyard Animal Feeding – Meet and feed a variety of farm animals.
• Visit to the Chicken Coop – See where chickens live and learn how eggs are collected.
• Exploring the Different Parts of an Egg – Hands-on investigation of egg anatomy.
• Germ Experiment – A fun, interactive way to understand the importance of cleanliness and food safety.
• Life Cycle Lessons – Discover the different life stages of a chick inside an egg.
• New for 2025: Hands-on Activity Kits for the classroom to reinforce lessons learned on the farm.
• An Activity Book – Each student will receive an activity book to continue learning beyond the tour.
• Just for Teachers: Pre and Post Tour activities to reinforce tour activities.

All tours include access to Pawpaw Carl’s Playground and Picnic Area. Participants are welcome prior to or after their tour.
