Treasure Mine
June 3 – August 30, 2024
This tour educates students on the differences between rocks and minerals and the life cycle of rocks. There’s a hands-on learning experience at the Mining Sluice, where students will discover and identify various minerals and gemstones.
The Buzz on Bees
June 3 – June 14, 2024
This tour is intended to teach all about bees. Participants will learn about this important insect, its life cycle and behaviors. They will also learn about their importance on the farm with pollination.
Farmer for the Day
June 3 – August 30, 2024
Experience a day in the life of a farmer with a walk around the farm and stops at interactive learning stations. Students gather produce from each station to “sell” at the farmer’s market for a Patterson Farm Buck, redeemable for a treat.
Chicken or the Egg
June 17 – June 27, 2024
The answer is “Both.” Who doesn’t love chicken?!? Who doesn’t understand the importance of eggs in the food cycle? During the tour, your group will learn all about chickens and their lifecycles, how eggs are formed and how farmers take care of their chickens.
Geocaching
June 3 – August 30, 2024
In this high-tech treasure hunt game participants search for hidden caches (buckets) on the farm, using the latitude & longitude coordinates which are entered into GPS (Global Positioning System) units. Lots of walking, so dress appropriately.
All Around the Barn
July 15 – July 25, 2024
We are now offering a tour completely dedicated to all the barnyard animals we have here. We will discuss how we take care of our animals, their life cycles, and how they have help farmers past and present.
