Geocaching is a high-tech treasure hunt game. Participants search for hidden caches (buckets) on the farm using the latitude and longitude coordinates which are entered into GPS (Global Positioning System) units. While it may sound easy, geocaching can be challenging as participants have to solve riddles, follow compass directions and search for clues before finding the cache. Choose the skill level for your group. This tour follows the Core Curriculum and will last approximately one hour. There is a good amount of walking involved, so please make sure you dress appropriately.
Tour Includes:
- Geocaching 101: Explanation of what Geocaching is and how this technology is used in farming.
- Hands on Activity
- Geocaching Adventure-High tech treasure hunt using GPS technology
- Kids Ice Cream or Water
- Farm Take Away
- Just for Teachers: Pre and Post Tour activities to reinforce tour activities.
Choose Our Customized Option: For an extra $1.00 per child, we can customize your Geocaching Adventure to meet any curriculum you are trying to reinforce. To customize a Geocaching tour requires at least at two-week notice.
All tours include access to Pawpaw Carl’s Playground and Picnic Area. Participants are welcome prior to or after their tour.
