Strawberry Patch Tour

Length of Tour:
Approximately 1 hour to 1.5 hours depending on group size.

Strawberry Patch Tour Objectives:
This tour is intended to teach children all about strawberries. Participants will learn about how we grow strawberries and the best way to pick them. This tour also includes a tractor-drawn wagon ride around the farm, the barnyard to feed the animals, a hands on activity to do back in your classroom and a pick your own pint of strawberries. This tour follows the Common Core Curriculum.

Tour Includes the following:

New for 2024, we will be offering the option to see the Puppet Show Presentation or Educational Video prior to your tour in your classroom or facility. This option will allow you more time to enjoy the farm facilities while you are at the farm including our expanded Agmagination***, an interactive discovery area to explore Ag Careers.

• Strawberry Patch Theater: Recommended to view in the classroom prior to your trip. You will have the option to choose to see the presentation at the farm or in your classroom prior to your visit.
  • Monday & Tuesday: Puppet Show Presentation
  • Wednesday – Friday: Educational Video “Strawberry Life Cycle”
• Tractor-drawn wagon ride
• New for 2024 – 2025: Expanded Farm Animal Experience
• A pint of pick your own strawberries from the Strawberry Patch for students, teachers & chaperones.
• New for 2024 – 2025: Hands on Activity Kits to take to your classroom to reinforce lessons learned on the farm after you return to your classroom.
• Just for Teachers: Pre- and Post Tour activities to reinforce tour activities.

All tours include access to Pawpaw Carl’s Playground, our expanded Agmagination*** and Picnic Area. Participants are welcome to visit these areas prior to or after their tour.

***What is Agmagination?
Agmagination is our version of a dramatic play community dedicated to the careers involving agriculture. In Agmagination children will get to explore using dramatic play, a type of play where children engage in imaginative and pretend activities, assuming the jobs and responsibilities of those in a particular agricultural related career.
