Frequently Asked Questions About Strawberry Season

Are Strawberries included with my ticket?

Strawberries are not included with the purchase of a ticket. Berries are sold separately, the ticket only allows access to the field. Tickets are required for anyone 2 and up.

Can I eat the berries from the fields?

We recommend that you don’t eat the strawberries from the field and that your wait until you wash them.

Can I bring my own container?

Picking containers will be provided based on the size you purchased online at the field. No outside containers will be allowed for gathering berries.

What kind of shoes should I wear?

Please watch the weather and wear appropriate shoes – fields can be muddy if it has recently rained.

Is it OK to bring my pet to the farm?

Our website and signs on the farm state that no pets are allowed, and your cooperation is appreciated. The only exception is for specifically trained service animals. This does not include emotional support animals. Only certified service animals trained for a specific task are allowed. This policy is in place for several reasons, including state mandates, food safety, the safety of other guests, and the safety of our livestock. This regulation also protects your pet, as we have two Great Pyrenees in our livestock pasture, trained to monitor and protect our animals from predators. Our livestock guardian dog could mistake your pet as a threat to the animals it is trained to protect.

Why do I have to pay admission if I am only accompanying my child?

Visiting our farm is like visiting a theme park, museum, movie, or any other attraction where parents may choose to go with their children. We are a privately owned operating farm and tourist destination rather than a public park that receives funding from the government or other outside sources to pay staff, maintain equipment, etc. We appreciate your support and hope you enjoy all that our farm has to offer.

Is smoking or vaping allowed on the farm?

Our farm is a smoke-free environment, and smoking/vaping is not permitted. Many nonsmokers, especially children, who are exposed to tobacco smoke, even outdoors, suffer immediate symptoms including breathing difficulties, eye irritation, headaches, nausea, and asthma attacks. Our smoke-free policy also helps discourage youth tobacco use.

Is your produce organic?

Patterson Farm uses technology and growing practices to minimize the use of pesticides, including growing crops on raised beds whenever possible. However, due to our climate and weather conditions, we do sometimes have to use methods to control pests, fungus, and disease. If we do have to use pesticides, we follow all government guidelines and regulations. The produce we grow is non-GMO (Genetically Modified Organism), as are most fruits and vegetables.

How long does Strawberry Season usually run?

Our pick-your-own strawberry fields usually run Mid-April through the first week or two of June, depending on the weather.

Weather Policy

Activities closed due to inclement weather or any other reason as determined by Patterson Farm Market and Tours will result in an opportunity to exchange your ticket for another date within one calendar year from your booked date.
