Fall Fun on The Farm and More!

Fall is officially here and you know what that means; fall fun for everyone! Things may look a little different for Patterson Farm this fall, but that doesn’t mean the fun has to stop! We have a variety of fun, fall activities to choose from for the entire family.

Virtual Corn Maize Tour

Available September 8 – September 25, 2020, our Virtual Corn Maize Tours can be booked by teachers who are looking to engage students in a new and exciting learning opportunity. Depending on the teacher’s preference, the tour can be conducted in the classroom and be led by the teacher, or it can be conducted on remote learning days when students are not in the classroom and will be led by a Patterson Farm staff member. No matter which option is chosen, both include corn related history, activities, games, and more! Students will receive the full experience of our corn maize, while also implementing in crucial elements of core curriculum. The cost is $10 per student and can be booked by visiting our website here. Geocaching Adventure

The fall edition of our Geocaching Adventure Tour lasts from September 8 – 25, 2020. If you’ve never heard of geocaching, it is a high-tech treasure hunt game. Participants search for hidden caches (buckets) on the farm using the latitude and longitude coordinates which are entered into GPS (Global Positioning System) units. While it may sound easy, Geocaching can be challenging as participants have to solve riddles, follow compass directions, and search for clues before finding the cache. Choose the skill level for your group. This tour follows the Core Curriculum and will last approximately one hour. The cost of the Geocaching Adventure Tour is $10 per person, and two teachers per class are admitted free.

 

Treasure Mine Adventure Tour

Our Treasure Mining Adventure Tour is available September 1 – 25, 2020 and is recommended for children ages 2 grade and up. While on the tour, students will participate in an interactive classroom where they will learn and investigate the differences between rocks and minerals. Students will also get to mine and sift their own rocks and minerals using the Mining Sluice. The tour also includes a lesson on Treasure Mining in our Treasure Mine Theatre. The cost for this tour is $10 per person for the basic mining mix. Children under two are admitted free, teachers and paid staff are admitted free. This tour follows the Core Curriculum and will last approximately one hour.

 

Corn Maize Tour

From September 21 – November 6, schedule a time to take a tour through our corn maize! On the tour, students will navigate through the maize using a passport – choose from 13 different topics – that will appeal to all ages! This tour follows the Core Curriculum and will last approximately one hour. While on the tour students will learn lessons about corn and maizes, participate in hands-on activities, and take away fun farm activities to reinforce what they learned while on the farm. The cost for the corn maize tour is $10 per person and two teachers per class admitted for free, and children under two are admitted for free.

Combo tours are also available and include a hayride and small pumpkin for students to take home. The cost for the combo tour is $16 per person.

 

Virtual Pumpkin Patch Tour

Our virtual pumpkin patch tour is available September 28 – October 30, Monday – Friday. Our virtual tours are booked by teachers for their students to participate either as a class or at home on remote learning days. The virtual Pumpkin Patch Tour will take students through the pumpkin growing process and provide them with pumpkin-related activities and games. Pumpkin Patch Tour

Our in-person pumpkin patch tour is available September 21 – November 6, 2020. On the tour, students will learn about the life cycle of a pumpkin and pick their own small pumpkin from our patch. Tours booked on Monday & Tuesday show a puppet show (Designed for Preschool & Kindergarten) and Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday tours show a DVD called “How Pumpkins Grow” (designed for Kindergarten, 1, and 2 Grade). Combo tours are also available for $16 per person and include the addition of the corn maize and kettle corn.

 

 

MOOvies on the Farm

On special weekends during September and October, Patterson Farm Market and Tours will be offering MOOvies on the Farm! This drive-in style movie will feature a variety of movies suitable for all age groups. During the movie, you will turn your car engine and headlights off, and tune your radio to the correct frequency to listen to the movie through your car speaker. All movies will begin at 8 p.m. Fresh squeezed lemonade, strawberry lemonade, and kettle corn are available for purchase in a variety of sizes at the Market. Outside food and drink are prohibited. All of our showings are weather permitting and parking and check-in can begin 2 hours prior to showtime. Fall Fun on The Farm Weekends

Fall Festival Season is here September 26 – November 1, 2020! On Saturdays, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. and Sundays 12 – 6 p.m., come check out our new experiences, but experience the same Patterson Farm fun! You are sure to have a buzzing time at Patterson Farm with over 30 attractions included with our general admission during our Fall Fun on the Farm activities. We also provide extra activities for an additional charge like make-your-own scarecrow kits, pumpkins, Gracie Graham’s Treasure Mine experience, and more. Tickets are $12 per person, and children under two get in for FREE! For 2020 timed ticketing is required. September 25 – November 1, 2020, Monday – Fridays check out Fall Fun on the Farm Weekdays! This weekday fun is from 10 a.m. – 6 p.m. on the designated days and includes activities like access to the barnyard, Papaw Carl’s Playground, the picnic area, and many other activities! Tickets are $10 per person, and children under two get in for FREE! Pumpkins are available for an additional charge.
